Fall Season and Home Decorating

It is becoming cooler each evening ,which gives me the hint indication that our wonderful summer is fading. However, this may be a good time to think about your fall decoations.

For example, you may be thinking about updating your living room such as replacing your sofa or changing your drapes.

Home Decorating/Improvements (Fair costs)

This time of year is very popular for home decorating/improvements. Its something about the fall season that makes a person ready to decorate/improve the home. Take a few minutes to review this list for what to look for in a home improvement specialist:

1) Is the home improvement person/company qualified for your project?-Check licenses/insurance/experience/the better business bureau/referrals.

2) Will he/she/they use subcontractors?-It can be more difficult to review the background if you are not aware of subcontracted work.

3) How long will the project last?-Delays for weather can occur but you want a resonable time frame for completion.

4) What are the methods of payment?-Credit card is best since you can the dispute charges but a check can be used as proof of payment. If cash is given make sure you receive a receipt with total paid/date paid/work provided.

5) Call/visit people who have had work performed by the home improvement person/company-Ask if work was satisfactory, completed on time, level of professionalism, understanding of the project, and would he/she/they hire again.

Home Decorating

My late mother was the true interior designer in my family. She could take a small amount of money, decide on a room design, and hit the flea markets without hesitation. The funny thing is the item/room would look costly. I would wonder why she was not a professional interior decorator/designer but she grow up when women were not told about career options.

My purpose with this catogory is to give quick, helpful tips to help maintain your flair for a good interior design at a fair price while limiting your health problems. As a woman with chronic health concerns, you do not need to add drama to your life.
