Health-How to Choose A Doctor
Choosing a doctor when you have a chronic health disease/disorder is very important. He/she has the ability to coordinate your care including making a diagnosis, prescibing medications, speaking with occupational, speech, physical, and mental health therapists, and helping with your prognosis. The following are 10 basic questions to consider:
What are his/her hours?
What are the fees?
Does he/she take your insurance/health plan?
Where is he/she located?
Does he/she give referrals?
Does he/she asks questions about your health/family background?
Are lab/x-rays done on site or are sent to another location?
Is he/she part of a group of specialists?
Which hospital/labortories/health facilities are he/she affiliated?
Does the staff act professionally?
The more questions you ask now, the better you will be in the future.

Health (Physical Activity)
We have been told that physical activity is important when we have fatigue and pain for reasons such as the following:
Maintain weight.
Reduce high blood pressure.
Reduce risk for type 2 diabetes, heart attack, stroke, and several forms of cancer.
Reduce arthritis pain and associated disability.
Reduce risk for osteoporosis and falls.
Reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety.
However, it can be a challenge to find the best ways to remain active if we are experiencing pain. In the near future, I will provide some links to help us stay active and minimize our pain.
